文法の意味
関係の前置詞を使うと、行動の手段・道具・目的・話題や、ものどうしの所属・部分の関係を示せる
日本語の『で』『の』『について』だけで決めず、二つの要素をどんな関係で結ぶかを見て選びます。
使い方・使い分け
何と何を結ぶかによって前置詞を選ぶ
人やものの関係をどう捉えるかに合わせて、前置詞を選びます。
- by
- 移動手段や経路を示す — by bus
- with
- 一緒にいる人や、使う道具を示す — with my sister / with a pen
- for
- 受け手・目的・期間を示す — for you / for practice / for two hours
- about
- 話題にしている内容を示す — about the book
- of
- 所属・部分・量などの関係を示す — the title of the book / a cup of tea

前置詞のあとに名詞を続けます。

文法のルール
by + 交通手段は無冠詞。
よくある間違い
I go to school by a bus.
基本の形
I go to school by bus.
by + 交通手段は「手段」を抽象的に表すので冠詞を付けません。by bus / by train のように無冠詞で使います。
with の後ろに数えられる単数の道具を置くなら、a / the / my などが必要。
補足：初めて述べる不特定の1つなら a / an を使う。
よくある間違い
I write with pen.

I write with a pen.
with の後ろに数えられる単数の道具を置くときは、a / the / my などで名詞を限定します。ここでは不特定のペンを初めて述べるため with a pen とします。特定のペンなら with the pen、自分のペンなら with my pen と言えます。by + 交通手段を無冠詞で使う形とは異なります。
「人に〜について話す」は talk to 人 about 内容の語順にする。
補足：talk to は話す相手、talk about は話題を示す。

I talked about him about the plan.

I talked to him about the plan.
「人に話す」は talk to、「〜について」は talk about。両方使うときは talk to 人 about 内容 の語順です。
of は A of B の形で「B の A」を表す。

of は A of B の形で「B の A」を表します。日本語の語順のまま song of title にはしません。
